Last chance to get involved

The LDC project launched its Last Chance call for project proposals by BBB landholders last month.

With the project scheduled to finish in 2021, this was the final opportunity for landholders to get involved in the project.

Under the BBB Grazier Support activity area, Last Chance has provided landholders a chance to submit project proposals to help them implement changes to manage their land and businesses better.

The aim is to improve grazing management practices, productivity, and land condition.

The proposals also have to demonstrate that the changes will help reduce sediment entering into local waterways and the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.

The application process is competitive, with project proposals ranked highest to lowest based on the assessment criteria. As there is a limited pools of funds available, not every project application will be successful.

The closing date for proposals was on Friday 29 May. Applications will be assessed over the coming days and all applicants, successful and unsuccessful will be notified from 15 June.

Projects must be completed by 30 November 2020.
