LDC MERI officer Marc McConnell

LDC welcomes new staff member Marc McConnell

Marc is the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer for the LDC project and brings a wealth of experience with him. We asked him to provide a short bio to introduce himself:

Connecting sustainable agriculture with ecology is my great passion.

I grew up on a sheep station in Western NSW and being the middle child, there wasn’t a job too hot, too dusty or too unpleasant that I did not do.

I have worked across Northern Australia with graziers trialling varied land management practices to help achieve a balance between carrying capacity, biomass and biodiversity.

Where I grew up, we faced the longest drought in living memory and this has instilled the importance of strong farming communities, shared innovation and resilience.

The evident successes and shared learnings achieved through the LDC project will have a long term impact and that’s something I’m really excited to be a part of.

There are many opportunities for landholders to get involved with LDC, and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with BBB landholders and land managers.
